Diagnostic imaging plays an important role in helping physicians evaluate injuries, diagnose medical conditions, and monitor treatment. Odessa Regional Medical Center offers a range of imaging services using digital technology to support patient care.

For the convenience of patients and referring providers, imaging services are available through scheduled appointments, with select walk-in services available.

Diagnostic Imaging Services

ORMC provides imaging services for patients of all ages. These studies help physicians obtain information needed to diagnose and manage a variety of medical conditions.

Interventional Radiology

Interventional Radiology uses imaging guidance to perform procedures that diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions.

Many procedures can be performed using small incisions and image-guided techniques, allowing patients to avoid more invasive treatment approaches when appropriate. Many interventional radiology procedures are performed on an outpatient basis.

How to Prepare for Your Imaging Procedure

If you have a scheduled imaging appointment, please review any preparation instructions provided by your physician before arriving.

General guidelines may include:

  • Wear loose-fitting clothes when possible.
  • Avoid wearing jewelry or other metal objects unless instructed otherwise.
  • Some imaging studies require fasting before the exam. Ask your physician if dietary restrictions apply to your procedure.
  • Inform your technologist if you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
  • Inform your care team of any allergies, including reactions to contrast materials.
  • Some imaging exams require patients to remain still during portions of the procedure. Your technologist will explain what to expect before your exam begins.
