The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the region, effective January 23, 2026 12:00PM through January 26, 2026 12:00PM, with forecasts calling for freezing rain and up to 3 inches of snow, a wintry mix, etc. in ECTOR COUNTY. Travel will be extremely difficult during the storm.
Odessa Regional Medical Center remains open for patient care during the storm. Patients should call their provider’s office to confirm appointments and verify hours of operation before leaving home.

Ector County Emergency Information
Ector County Emergency Management has announced the opening of warming shelters for residents impacted by the winter storm.

Additional backup shelter locations may be activated if needed, including Kellus Turner Community Center, South Ector Community Center, and Gardendale Community Center.
Shelters will provide meals, overnight accommodations, and access to charging stations for essential devices. Transportation assistance is available through Ector County Non-Emergency & Transportation at 432-335-3535 or City of Odessa Non-Emergency & Transportation at 432-333-3641.
